Ensure a window depth of at least 2 inches for proper installation.

For outside mounted installation, measure the width and height of the window frame. The width of the roman shade should be the window frame width plus 3-6 inches, and the height should be the window frame height plus 8-10 inches. Alternatively, if installing on the window frame, the width of the roman shade should be the same or slightly smaller than the window width, with the height matching the window frame height.
